How to dump MySQL databases with PHPBU and transfer them with secured ftp

PHPBU is not a very sexy name for a great utility that helps you to manage your backups, compress them, organize them or even transfers them. And all with a single configuration file.

PHPBU stands for PHP Backup, which is a very modest name for a utility that is able to do so much.

PHPBU on their website:
PHPBU is a php framework that creates and encrypts backups and moves your backups to other servers or cloud services and assists you monitor your backup creation

I am using PHPBU to make my own MySQL backups which I store on another server. Any hoster makes backups (you should check this), but for some customers I want backups of my MySQL database for maybe up to 10 times a day.

The closest thing to syncing 2 MySQL database servers is using this free utility, which is written by Sebastian Feldmann from Germany.
